Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro not working after iOS 15.1 update

The most recent IOs update to 15.1 made several changes to the Magic Keyboard working on my iPad Pro. The space bar no longer unlocks the screen when it previously would trigger FaceID. And the space key does not work on the command line in Safari (although it does when using Chrome). Are there settings I need to change? Or can I go back to the previous version?

Turning it to “off” actually solves the problems above. But maybe it will cause other issues.

If that happens, you just go further into Accessibility settings and find the place where you can change the function given to Space but still use the rest of keyboard access.
