I have an Apple Watch Series 4 and an iPhone 12 Mini. I’m currently without Wi-Fi, and relying solely upon a cellular connection. I wanted to snap a photo (with me in it) using the Camera Remote on my watch, but all I see is a message telling me both devices need to be on the same network. As my watch (GPS only version) is connected to my phone via Bluetooth, what else is there to do?

Oopsie! Dolt that I apparently am, I had no idea that there's a "Camera Remote" (which was not on my phone - don't know why) and a "Remote"; two separate apps. I just kept looking at the directions, and even though they used the term 'camera remote I just assumed that was the new name, and Series 4 just had "Remote." That situation has been successfully rectified. You know what they say about when you assume...

Under iPhone -> Settings -> Cellular -> Cellular Data -> Camera, is the Camera enabled to use Cellular Data?
I do not have a Cellular Apple Watch, so you will have to check if there is a similar setting in iPhone -> Watch that specifics which apps can use cellular data.
Just because you do not have WiFi at home, does not mean the iPhone and Apple Watch cannot create ad-hoc WiFi connections. With that in mind, do you have WiFi enabled on both the iPhone and Apple Watch?
And that is the end of my ideas.

Drat! I thought you had it… I did forget to check those settings - but, alas, both camera and watch are set for cellular. 😞
Two great ideas, and I thank you. But Wi-Fi is enabled on both. I’ll just take the pic using the camera’s timer - not really THAT important if I muck it up. Again, thank you!
