This is an artifact of the install process...you can ignore it or drag it to the trash can

It is a little unclear where you are seeeing this —if the Mac does not boot all the way:
If your Mac starts up to a question mark

If the installer is damaged, delete the installer from your Applications folder "Install macOS Monterey.app"
empty your trash and then download a fresh copy...
If your download speed/Network is suspect get on a faster Network.
