Migration Assistant
I don’t want to migrate all of my files, only a couple of programs, how do I do this? Can I specify in Mac OS Migration Assistant which programs to move to my new Mac?

Unfortunately, Migration Assistant only transfers all files or none. I believe the same applies to programs (apps). Some people prefer to not transfer apps and download them from the vendor's web site to have clean installs on their new computer.
