In the movies I rent, the speech sounds are low, but the other effects sounds are loud. I wonder why?

if it's set to surround in the appletv settings and you do not have surround speakers connected then the 2 speakers you do have are front left and right though most voice stuff in surround goes out of the center speaker, which if you only have 2 speakers is absent
changing it to stereo would resolve it
