Here is Apple’s advice for lost or stolen devices:
If your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch is lost or stolen – Apple Support
Use the Find My app to locate a lost or stolen device – Apple Support
If Find My iPad was activated before you misplaced by iPad - and your iPad has an active network connection - you can use the Find My App to Play A Sound. When activated, your iPad will play a very loud sound - which you will hopefully hear!
