Is there any update on getting an option to turn off the multitasking dots?
I use an app for work that has been much harder to use with these dots.

It isn’t possible to disable multitasking features of iPadOS15 - or its core controls.
Apple do invite constructive feedback and feature requests via their product feedback pages:
If an App that you use is impacted by the positioning of the multitasking control panel, perhaps you should consider contacting the respective App Developer. The Developer may be planning an update of their own:
