How do i update my version of safari?

Ive been told by a webpage that i ned to update my version of safari on my mac....but i can't find how to do this.

If your computer can not accept an OS upgrade to a newer version, you can install another browser such asFirefox or Chrome. They can usually access those web sites. They can also be individually upgraded.
