Screen Time PW Issues

Hello, I am having an issue changing my screen time password. I have done the forget password and entered in my Apple ID and I keep getting locked out. How can I resolve this? It’s extremely frustrating to be locked out of a tool I’d like to use.

Thank you for the reply. I’ve followed those directions but it will not let me move past my Apple ID and password. I’ve even changed that a few times to ensure I’m using the right one. I’m not sure what to do next. It just keeps saying failed and locks me out.
