Is anyone else having trouble searching Mac mail? It takes forever for results when typing a sender or topic in the search box, to the point that it's useless. This has been going on for a long time. I have Big Sur 11.6 and all updates are current.

You can do a quick SafeBoot to clear system caches, reboot as normal—
then Rebuild the Spotlight —
Rebuild the Spotlight index on your Mac - Apple Support
