The short answer is a NO.

There are circumstances whereby others may be able to see your Messages and that is if multiple devices are signed on to the same Apple ID. For example, if you have an iPhone, iPad and a Mac and they are all signed on to the same Apple ID and Messages activated, then there is a good chance that someone can walkup to your Mac and read your messages. Same with your iPad. If you maintain passwords/passcodes on your other devices then you can control this.
