Since upgrading to Big Sur spotlight attempts to web search anything I type in, this is incredibly frustrating as this is how I have always accessed Applications and now I need to go through additional steps.

For me, when I start to type the name of an application it lists the app first.
This is how it used to be for me as well, until Big Sur. Are you on Big Sur? I'm on 11.5.2
