How do I get the documents and downloads folder to upload to icloud

I want to back up everything on this MacBook pro. I have two questions

How do I do it

Can I back up everything like documents, downloads?

Backup to icloud from MacBook Pro I would like to back up some of my document folders from my macbook pro to icloud but there is no icon to do this when I go in to the icloud window, It only allows me to click on folders like photos and mail. There is no Documents folder option to click on, I have read an article that says there should be a Desktop and Documents icon but there isn't one. Am I just unable to back up other documents, it's things like tiff photoshop files. Thanks.

iCloud and Macbook backup other than 'Documents' folder? Dear community, Is there a simple way to backup other than the 'Documents' folder on iCloud? I want to backup my personal files which are organized in a separate folder. I don't like to put my personal files to the Mac's 'Documents' folder as it gets mixed with other stuff from installed apps. I really like to have my files completely separated from other files. Is there a way? Or there isn't any other way than just put my personal folder into the 'Documents' folder? It could be a big improvement if you could just tell iCloud to backup any folder you like on your Mac! Thank you a lot!
