transition on only one clip Final Cut Pro

Basically I've started doing drum covers and filming them, 2 cameras one showing the arms and what's going on on the kit above and then one focusing on the feet. So what I want is for the whole screen filled with the main above kit video and then around 25% of the screen will have the feet video. I've got all of this down, but the feet video doesn't start from the beginning, and I want a transition on it when it comes in. The issue I have is that the whole screen (both videos) do this transition, not just the small video, is there a way to do this? thanks!

This depends on what transition you are using. Some will always affect the whole frame, some won't.

There are ways around this, but start by telling us exactly what transition it is, so we can better advise.

Also, to be absolutely clear, it might help if you post a screenshot of the viewer and timeline.
