operating system update

I have a Mac Mini that says the OS system is up todate but it is running OS X Yosemite 10.10.5. The automatic update is checked , how do i up date to the latest version ?

Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and depending on which Mac mini model you have, click on El Capitan, High Sierra, Mojave, Catalina, or Big Sur. They're full-version upgrades, not updates.
