I purchased extra 50 GB storage on my old iPhone6 and now have upgraded to an iPhone 12…I kept my old phone # so thought my storage would transfer to the new phone with my old phone# ..apparently it did not bc I’m being told I need to add more storage.. does it not move with the phone #? I don’t have my iPhone6 anymore
You didn't buy any storage on your iPhone, you can't add storage to it. You bought iCloud storage. If you have logged into the same iCloud account with the same Apple ID your storage is intact.

iCloud storage is tied to your Apple ID. Provided you are using the same Apple ID, your iCloud storage is available.
