iPad not queried for wifi password

I changed the hotspot password on my iPhone but my iPad continues to connect to it without being queried for the new password. Is that how it's supposed to be?

If the iPhone and the iPad share the same Apple ID, that is the expected behavior. The password is only for access by others.
