You can also automatically sync photos and files and other information through iCloud. See: Set up and use iCloud Photos - Apple Support and iCloud - Apple

It may depend on what data you want to transfer. For Apple apps, you can use iCloud to sync your data between devices logged in with the same Apple ID. For other data, it would help if you can tell us what you are interested in transferring to the Mac notebook.
