Unlocking old iphone

I asked ee to unlock my old iPhone 5 so I could put a sim in it, they say it’s done but maybe it’s apple that are blocking the unlock as ive not used the phone for so long, how can I ask Apple for help?

Apple cannot expedite this, only the provider that locked it can unlock it.

However you seem to have LTE service so the lock is not in place for that SIM.
