Hello,

To begin with, it may be a good idea to reset the printing system. Does the operating system offer a suitable driver to use?

The HP download page for the HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 1510 All-in-One Printer series has references to HP Smart and HP Easy Start (https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-deskjet-ink-advantage-1510-all-in-one-printer-series/5285089). If there is a problem with these, you may want to have a look at the HP Easy Admin tool for Mac (https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06164609) that allows administrators to download drivers without a connected printer. See also the FAQ.

If nothing else works, you could perhaps check whether the Dec 11, 2020 HP Printer Drivers v5.1 for macOS (https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1888?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US) package download from Apple would change anything. Look for something like the HP Deskjet 1510 series version 2.3.2 driver mentioned in the Printer and scanner drivers for Mac - Apple Support article.

As already indicated by TheLittles, before testing printer drivers, make sure that you have backup copies of all important files (documents, photos, et cetera).

Contact HP:

Important: First, Back Up your Mac:

Create a Time Machine backup of your Mac, so that you can have something to restore your Mac from, should anything go wrong with the driver install. Take this as a learning experience, knowing to always create a backup of your Mac, prior to making any major changes to it (i.e. driver installation).
