homepod mini plays spontanerouly

My HomePod minis suddenly start playing without any of my devices initiating music. I cannot tell what device is causing it (have iPhone, iPad, MacBook Pro). Questions: How to find out which device is playing to the speakers and how to stop spontaneous play. It is clearly playing tunes from my iTunes device based library (not a member of any music streaming service).

Thanks

It might be using handoff. You can disable this feature if you don’t use it:

Go to Settings > General > AirPlay & Handoff, then turn off Handoff.

Or turn it off , close the settings App. restart your phone then once it restarts turn it back on

Additionally, you can also restart the HomePod:

Open the Home App - Long press on the HomePod icon to bring up settings, scroll down to the gear icon, tap that, scroll to the bottom to Reset HomePod - then select Restart HomePod
