How to delete other files on my Mac? it is a huge 55GB!

I need to upgrade my Mac but even after deleting all files, I am left with 22 GB with OTHER fees taking 55 GB of space. How to free up that space?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.15

The Other category is controlled by the operating system, not you. See Apple's article, See used and available storage space on your Mac. In particular, the section about Other:
