How do I transfer information from my G drive to my new MacBook Air?

When you say backed up do you mean as a Time machine or something else? Need to be TM if using setup Assistant.

during the initial setup with the new one, plug in your Gdrive and choose to use the setup assistant which will pop up - choose your G drive and it will do the transfer.
I traded in my old Mac yesterday. Prior to trade in, I backed up my old Mac to my G drive. I’m trying to transfer the information from the G drive to the new Mac.
