Can I send an iPad for trade in before I purchase a new one?

Can I send an iPad to Apple for trade in consideration before I purchase a new one. Can I get a credit to use at the Apple store?

Yes to both of those questions. Click "Tablet" in the "Select your device to get a trade-in estimate without a purchase." section of https://www.apple.com/shop/trade-in and after answering the questions it will give you the option to set up a trade for a gift card that you can use in a future purchase.
