iTunes won't connect with my phone

My iPhone 7 Plus won't connect to iTunes with my new MacBook Air. Please help.

Hi, try a hard reset and see

Press and hold both the volume down button and the Sleep/Wake button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
