Manage storage what is safe to delete

Hi! I'm trying to manage my mac HD storage by removing applications that aren't needed. I'm stuck because there are files in there that I don't know what they are or if it's ok to delete them for example 'uninstaller' and 'cc troubleshooter'. I'm not tech savy but doing my best to start learning as much as I can. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks :)

Applications themselves do not take up that much storage. And, depending on which OS version you are running, you may not be able to do so. However, you have full access to your User folder and photos, movies, videos, etc. take up the most storage, so that is what you should be concentrating on - either delete it or move it to an external drive to keep.
