Having difficulty emptying trash

Hi All -

I had an issue with Outlook giving me an error and not launching which led to attempting to remove some temporary files from var folders. Some of these files are stuck in the Trash, and I cannot seem to remove them. It says they're all in use and cannot be deleted. They are folders titles "81," "com.apple.safari," and "com.apple.routined." Any suggestions on how to get these out of the Trash?

Howdy,

Looking for where those folders come from, I'm not sure what they are for or what they do. When I'm not sure what something does I'm pretty shy about messing with them.

So the first thing I would try is selecting them in the Trash Window and File > Put Back

That would get them out of the Trash by putting them back from where they came. Of course if you really know they are causing your issue and getting rid of them is okay, the next thing I would try is to boot into Safe Mode and with nothing running see if I could empty the trash.
