Links don't open in Gmail in Safari

Q - Links suddenly don't open in Gmail in Safari.

A - Cycle computer OFF then ON. (I know, seems too stupid easy, eh? It's true.)

Gmail hyperlinks no longer work in latest Safari update Team, I've just updated to the latest version, 11.4 Big Sur. Since then, I haven't been able to open hyperlinks from my Gmail in Safari - it starts loading then stops. I also can't search directly into the search bar in Safari, I have to go into Google, then search. Any ideas why or how I fix this?

Links from Mail won't open in Safari Quite often if I click on a link in an email from a mailing list, Safari says it can't find the server (see below). If I copy the link into Chrome it opens fine. Why?

I cannot open links on Google. I have to select Safari. I can’t open links on emails in Google. It freezes. I’ve cleared Cache. nb I can open using Safari
