Apple watch 6

I have been missing texts from regular contacts since I synced a new Apple watch 6. It silences alert tones on my phone and isn't loud enough on the watch. Help?

Texts on ultra series 8 watch my watch is paired to my phone, airplane and don’t disturb is off. Every time my phone rings my watch rings. Every time I get a text on my phone I get a text on my watch but I don’t always get a notification that I received a text. Any idea why?? I can’t pin point the issue of of sometimes getting the notification and sometimes not. Appreciate any help.

For the record just got off chat with Apple Support. They have me deleting my watch then repairing. I have maxed out the alert volume and haptics settings already. I'll re do all that when pairing is complete. The watch will be a waste of money if I can't hear alerts tones . Thanks for the response. Much appreciated
