Zero KB of 3 TB available (time capsule message) though airport utility says 2.4T free disk space. any idea?

I have a 3TB Airport Time Capsule, and there is free disk space if I check on the Airport Utility but also if I add up the disk usage. However, TimeCapsule does not backup anymore. The message I get is "Zero KB of 3 TB available". Any idea?

What OS are you running on the computer?

How long have you been backing up to the TC since the last wipe?

You do occasionally need to reset everything.. erase the TC drive and start over. Especially important with Big Sur.

If you have backup you want to keep archive the TC before you erase it. To archive you will need a USB disk of 3TB formatted Mac HFS+.

If your TC disk is really <1TB of data then a 1TB would do the job.

NOTE.. Big ISSUE with Big Sur.

If you have antivirus installed.. e.g. Norton or Sophos the backup will fail. You might get this warning about disk full. You need to fully remove any AV software or extra security.
