My 16" Macbook pro 2019 will not turn on.

My 2019 16" Macbook will not start up...

Apple store tech support gave up

I bought the Macbook Pro June 2020.

Why would a new Macbook Pro not start?

Apple help can't figure it out either.

So I have a piece of lead that cost $3000 with no way of getting it fixed.

Can someone please help!

I have the same problem. I bought mine (refurbished) about the same time as a graduation gift for my son. November of 2020 it stopped working. Just completely stopped working. Tried all the different resets that can be done. No liquid damage. Still under the 1 year warranty apple replaced the logic board. It happened again on June-July 2021. Same exact thing. No liquid damage. Solution is the same, replace the logic board but no longer in warranty ($675 dollars I believe is the price quoted). I could barely afford this MacBook Pro. Hence, I bought it refurbished. To have to pay again for a logic board that I believe should be recalled is too much. I hope everyone experiencing this will at least comment so apple will take notice and this would would be recalled. There's no way we pay for something at such a price that the logic board should be replaced 2 times in just about a year. There must be a design issue here. Meanwhile, my son is has a laptop as a graduation gift that cost us so much money but is now being used as a paperweight. I could have bought an actual paperweight for less than $5.00 I believe.

User wrote " I bought mine (refurbished) about the same time as a graduation gift for my son." from whom ??

Have purchased Refurb computers Directly from Apple several times and each time they were like new, including a Brand New Battery with 1 Full Battery Cycle when received.

They have all worked as per designed for years.

Bought directly from Apple (refurbished)

I’m glad for you that nothing wrong has happen to what you bought but that doesn’t mean every unit has nothing wrong.

Im not the only one who has this experience with the new USB-C port MacBooks. That’s why I hope all those experiencing this would comment to raise awareness and have this recalled. I’m not speaking for those that did something wrong to their MacBook. Mishandling it does not merit a recall.

I’m glad you agree.

First of all we are both commenting on somebody else’s post that mentions a similar problem.

I forgot to mention you really didn’t have to ask where I purchased my refurbished MacBook Pro from if you read clearly my post because it mentions how I had the logic board replaced under warranty in November 2020. Would apple do that if it’s not bought from them or authorized dealer?

Just read about others posting the same problem. It’s just sad that others are not saying anything. I’m referring to all those who didn’t do anything wrong to their MacBook.

I understand Apple should not be held accountable for those that have mistreated their computers.

Thank you for responding. Again I just want this to be made known so hopefully apple will do the right thing.

I own 2 other MacBooks. 13” 2015 MacBook Pro and 11” 2014 MacBook Air. I bought them used and have no problems with them. I bought somewhat brand new (refurbished) this time but this is now what I’m experiencing.

Hope others with legitimate concerns about this matter will also respond.

My 16" Macbook pro 2019 will not turn on.
