how do i add my child to the family sharing account when they already have an apple id. i don't want to have to setup a new apple id

My children already have appleid's - the standard process creates new ones for them
How do i add the children to the family account with their existing appleid's?
I read it but it points to the standard instructions where you have to create an id for your child.
if you have instructions as to how you invite someone with an existing ID please send them to me

You are welcome. When you go the 'Invite people to join your family' section, ignore the link to create an Apple ID for a child and add them to your group link. Just after that, it tells you what to do if they have an existing Apple ID.
Did you read the Set up Family Sharing link Limnos posted? If you invite the existing Apple ID, you don't have to create a new ID.
