I have the Apple Watch Series 6 and an iPhone Xs. Until a few days ago, unlocking my phone would unlock my watch. It won’t unlock now, and upgrading to 14.7.1 made no difference. Watch is nearly useless when locked. Is another fix on the way?

The iOS 14.7.1 fixed the unlocking an Watch using a Touch ID iPhone (not your iPhone XS).
Try unpair the pair again with your Watch and iPhone.

Problem resolved, Hard memory reset resolved the problem. 14.7.1 now unlocks my watch on IPhone XS Max.
IPhone XS won’t unlock iPhone after 14.7.1 update.
