Connecting other Bluetooth devices to Apple Watch

I have a Apple Watch series 6 that is connected to my Apple iPhone but I am unable to connect any other Bluetooth devices. On my phone it continually shows “searching” but not discovering any devices. How do I discover other Bluetooth devices such as my Bluetooth headphones?
