Green text message bubble ?
I texted my friend and the bubble was blue and didn’t say delivered or anything underneath it but immediately turned green and said “ sent as text message “ underneath it what does this mean ?

There's different ways for messages to be sent. In your case it didn't work over Apple's own system so it used your carrier's system instead.

- iMessage - blue bubble + says it is an iMessage
- SMS/MMS - green bubble + it says it is a Text Message
