Emptying Cache in Safari

I have the Develop menu and see submenu to "Empty Caches" but how do I know it happened? I don't see anything spinning or moving to tell me it happened...so can someone please tell me the location in Finder for where caches are usually stored for Safari, so I can go there sometimes and see visually that the cache disappears after I "empty" it?
