I am assuming that you are referring to daily automatic iCloud backups.
Open Settings ➔ Apple ID (Your Name at Top) ➔ iCloud : Here, under Storage, check to ensure that you have free storage space left. If not then this is the issue.
Open Settings ➔ Apple ID (Your Name at Top) ➔ iCloud ➔ iCloud backup : Here ensure that iCloud backup is set to ON.
What happens when you manually initiate the iCloud backup? Do you see any errors?
