There are several ways, described here→Transfer photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

By far the easiest way is to turn on iCloud Photos on both devices:

  • On the iPhone: Settings/[your name]/iCloud - Photos
  • On the MBA: Menu/System Preferences/Apple ID - check Photos (If your MBA is not running Catalina or Big Sur it’s Menu/System Preferences/iCloud)

In addition to being easy, it’s also real time. A few seconds after you take a photo it will appear on your MacBook Air.

If you have a lot of photos you may need to “buy” additional iCloud storage. It’s 99¢ per month for 50 GB.
