How do I uninstall the old FB Messenger after I installed the new Messenger v.97 for Macbook Pro?

The only thing is to uninstall my Mac Messages App it wants me to uninstall Facebook completely. Do you think I can do that? Will I be able to get my FB page back? Any info will help me, I'm not sure if I should do this or not. I'm sure the FB App is on Apple but I installed FB so long ago as new and I have no idea how to reinstall or if I should even delete it. What's you opinion if you are able to reply. Lucky you, It's so addicting and really changed. I've been on it for 11 yrs. now. Everyone now is using TicTok, Instagram, etc. all the young people. FB is for the older generation now. LOL However it was good in the beginning, now it's so commercialized since Zuckerberg sold a lot of his stock. You know how that goes.

I would hope so but my memory is so bad I guess I'm a little worried cause FB has a lot of problems and I have mine synced to 2 other Apple products
