Sim failure.

My phone says sim failure. I have followed all steps to fix it but it still says it. Does this mean that my SIM card is bad or that my husband shut off my cellular data and I can only use my phone through WiFi?

The SIM has probably failed. I would not expect to see that message if you had a SIM that simply didn't have service any more.
