Word Save error message: Word cannot complete the save due to a file permission error.

It may be where the file is originally located. Make sure your file is in a folder that gives you full read/write permissions.

It is possible that the file is password protected. If you got the file from someone else, make sure they give you write permissions for it.

I have discovered that Apple's latest update as well as Microsoft's latest update will not allow permissions for us to save new docs to our word app...they want you to use OneDrive. I'll give it a try...its just another change.....for the sake of changing, not necessarily improving.

this issue is on any NEW document I create. I cannot save any new documents because of this error. where is this error coming from and why?

Have you maybe enabled iCloud Drive, I've seen that cause this?
