I just got my new Watch 6. It worked for a bit, but now it’s displaying the watch face plus something like a water drop at the top of the screen, but swiping to get the Control Center doesn’t work, and pressing either side button just gives me a message about unlocking and ejecting water (not needed). What to do?

To answer my own question, the watch was locked! I had to turn the Digital Crown (a term which was a complete mystery to me - apparently comes from analog watch technology) which I was scared to do because of the reference to water in the message. Also you have to turn it quite a lot. Well. I may look foolish but at least I can use the watch again.
Thanks. Pity I didn’t see that, but it didn’t pop up in any of my searches of the Watch User Manual etc. I imagine there are reasons to lock the device other than to make it more watertight so this strong link between locking and water came as a surprise. I still don’t know how I locked it!!
