Hidden Spam folder on Macbook ???

My iphone has a Junk folder and a Spam folder. My Macbook only has a Junk folder so I can't see all the emails that are in Spam. Some of these emails are REALLY important. I tried to create a Spam folder on the Macbook; it refused and said one already exists. So, why can't I see it! I am current, on Big Sur. This is driving me nuts...

So, here's what I have found...

I do not have a folder (mailbox) called Spam, but there is a SECOND Junk folder (how can I have 2 with the same name???) which contains all the emails in the Spam folder on my phone.

Sheesh!

What a mess.

Why are some 'Junk/Spam' emails being put in to 1 Junk file and some into the other?

What happens if I delete one of them ?
