MacBook thermal performance when in clamshell mode

Hello,

I would like to use an external monitor as my main screen while keeping my MacBook closed. However, there is a concern about the thermal performance when the lid's closed. If the MacBook get hot, does it hurt the built-in display?

Thanks

The computer is designed to be used in closed display mode. There is no overheating issue.
