I have a 27 inch Imac built in 2017. I recently upgraded to Big Sur and now once I wake my computer from sleep the internet connection drops from 98mbps to around 3mbps. I have tried to switch the wifi off and then reconnect but it doesn't fix the problem. If I restart then boom fast internet speeds again - untiol wake from sleep. Any ideas?

Download and run Etrecheck. Etrecheck is a diagnostic tool that was developed by one of the most respected users here in the ASC and recommended by Apple Support to provide a snapshot of the system and help identify the more obvious culprits that can adversely affect a Mac's performance.
IMPORTANT:
Before running Etrecheck assign Full Disk Access to Etrecheck in the Etrecheck's Privacy preference pane so that it can get additional information from the Console and log files for the report:
Also click and read the About info to further permit full disk access.
Copy the report
and use the Additional Text button to include the report in your reply.
Then we can examine the report and see if we can determine what might be causing the problem.
This seems to be a common issue with MacOS Big Sur and only occurs on Macs which came with or were upgraded to Big Sur including 11.4. None of my MacOS Catalina Macs experience this issue. Very frustrating as wifi connects but it takes about a minute before you can resolve any websites.
I am literally right next to the router! I know I could hard wire to the router but I don’t want to! The folks at Apple could call me and try and replicate this issue and solve the problem for me? I literally have to do a full restart every time I sit down to use the computer ,
Have you installed or run any "cleaning", "optimizing", "speed-up" or anti-virus apps on your Mac?
Even 98 is slow. I get a solid 1,300 on a 2013 iMac. How far are you from the router? Can you switch to LAN?
I might have done. But only after the computer started exhibiting this problem
Disable sleep, no pain, all gain. Hardwire not a bad idea either. Neither is uninstalling anti-virus and dodgy 3rd party stuff. Good luck!
