Cannot download Fitness+ on my IPad Pro

Hi! Is there a way I can download the app on my IPad Pro? I have tried countless times to get on the App Store to see if you guys have fixed this problem but every time I get the message “This app requires features not available on this device”. I have it on my iPhone but the screen is too small for me to look at the workouts. I do not own an Apple Watch, is that part of the problem?
