Max number of tags on Mac

I'm intending to utilize tags on Mac in order to help categorize music that I download through Tracklib and create on Logic Pro X. Because of this, some day there might end up being an absolute ridiculous amount of tags. How many can finder reasonably support?

App or workaround to manage files with tags? One of the things I wish macOS had is a good tag manager to help us find files faster and easier. For example, right now if I want to find files that have 2 or more tags, I need to create a new search and then manually add the search criteria. Thing is, when using the TAGS filter, we have to remember the tags names, because finder doesn't auto complete. If you have 100 tags, it's hard to remember all and the slightest typo will make it not find those files. So my question is: is there an app that automatically shows all created tags (and keeps updating the list) and then we just have to click the tag name to add it to a search bar and then click another one, etc? Then we can pick if it's an AND | OR type of search?

Custom tags in the search field Why are custom tags not included in the 'Tags' option in the search field of MacOS Finder? Is there a way to fix that? I have a tag '5' to mean 5-stars and entering 5 in search does not give me an option to pick Tags 5 instead of filename like it does for 'Blue' (or any built-in tag). I can use 5 in the Tags area in Finder left-pane but that always searches the entire computer. Thanks!

Tags are attached to the file metadata. Spotlight is used to find/display them.

There isn’t a list that links files to the Tag.

I don’t think there is a limit.
