Photos on Mac

I stopped syncing my photos on my iPhone with my Mac. However, I am still seeing all the photos on my phone on my laptop. How can I remove these photos on my Mac without losing them on my phone?

To completely isolate your iPhone from your Mac, photos wise, you need to do the following:

  1. Turn off iCloud photos on both devices if it's on.
  2. Disengage My Photo Stream on both devices if it's on.

Once that's done any transfer between the iPhone and Mac will need to be done manually with the iPhone connected via USB cable to the Mac.
