Macbook M1 startup chime
Having unchecked the box in System Preferences - Sounds to switch off the startup chime the box checks itself again on the next startup. Any ideas please?

Start up your Mac in safe mode and choose the M1 Method. The Safe Boot will do a Repair Disk, clear cache files and only load Apple Software, extensions and Fonts so it will load slowly - Normal. Does the Chime still sound when booting this way. If not - there might be some Third Party Software interfering with the Normal Operation of the OS.
To exit Safe Mode - just restart in normal way. Also, your user profile is showing Big Sur 11.3 - there is an 11.3.1 available.
