iMac serial number not recognised?

Any one please help

I bought and iMac 2018 and never worked well with email

abt email account works perfect on my phone and google but not the iMac - keep being asked for login p/W but it t will not recognising it

I tried reporting to apple who cannot advise because the serial number of the iMac is not recognised??

one problem just brings Ano problem. £1100 worth of equipment done nothing for nearly three years

any help would be gratefully revived

I would see it the serial number showing in "About this Mac..

is the same as the serial number in "System Information" (from the "System report" button in the "About" window)

and the same as the number on the bottom of the metal "foot" that supports the iMac.

Did you buy the computer directly from Apple?
